The site describes ordinary behaviors that are part of our lives even as they contribute building blocks for con artists to repurpose and reconfigure as seductive traps for their victims.

 The Cons examines strategies and tactics built and used carefully, confidently, and repeatedly by con artists and describes why they work.

The changing nature of activities by con artists over the decades reflects cultural shifts. The changes respond to potential victims learning about specific tactics of cons – in turn, forcing cons to alter their favored tactics. Everyone is a potential victim, everyone can be conned. The scams affect all cultures, but some scams have become increasingly prominent in American culture during recent decades.
